Funding Partner
UK Sport is the primary funder of Olympic sport in Great Britain and provides GB Boxing with a funding grant made-up of contributions from the National Lottery and the Exchequer.
UK Sport’s vision is to inspire the nation through Olympic and Paralympic success. Primarily this means working closely with partner sporting organisations and strategically investing in National Governing Bodies of sport to deliver medals at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. UK Sport’s strategic direction helped British sports and athletes make history at the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games by winning more medals in Rio, than when hosting the Games at London 2012, with 67 Olympic and 147 Paralympic medals won.

Supporting local businesses
GB Boxing is a member of the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, which is a membership organisation that aims to support, connect and grow local businesses across the region. GB Boxing has collaborated with the Chamber on fundraising events and by hosting ‘Breakfast club’ meetings at its gym in Sheffield.
The Sheffield Chamber of Commerce was established in 1857 and is accredited through the national body, the British Chambers of Commerce. The Sheffield Chamber aims to make sure the views of its members are represented to key decision makers in local and central government and that the decisions they make, reflect the interests of local businessesand the region as a whole.
Inspiring the next generation
GB Boxing has established partnerships with two local charities, Sheffield Mind and Roundabout, as part of its commitment to having a positive social impact and using sport to help improve the lives of young people in Sheffield and the surrounding areas.
The partnerships will see GB Boxing use the power of sport and the resources of the World Class Programme (WCP) for boxing, to support the work of the two charities in helping to improve the social capital of young people from disadvantaged communities and contribute to combatting issues related to homelessness, inequality and poor mental health.
