Seventeen men and women from the GB Boxing squad have been selected to compete at the World Cup Boxing Cup: USA Boxing International Invitational at the Pueblo Convention Centre in Colorado, America (16-20 April 2024).

The squad come into the tournament off the back of an elite multi-national training camp that was held at the United States Training Centre in Colorado Springs over the last week.

More than 150 boxers from 20 countries are registered to take part in the second edition of the World Boxing Cup following the event hosted in Sheffield at the English Institute of Sport back in January of this year.

Like its predecessor, the event is a new addition to the elite international boxing calendar and is part of the World Boxing Cup series which has been developed by World Boxing, the new international federation established to ensure boxing remains at the heart of the Olympic movement.

The group of boxers selected by GB Boxing is comprised of 9 men and 8 women and includes Charley Davison and Delicious Orie as well as Chantelle Reid, all of whom have already secured qualification for Paris 2024 following their successes at their respective qualification events in Poland and Italy.

Also set to compete are Savannah Stubley, Elise Glynn, Owain Harris-Allan, Patris Mughalzai, Lewis Richardson and Taylor Bevan who all boxed at the recent Boxing Road to Paris event in Busto Arsizio but missed out on reaching the qualification stages this time out.

Elsewhere, lightweight Shona Whitwell and light-heavyweight Ramtin Musah will be hoping to continue where the left off in their last outing, having both won gold at the World Boxing Cup at English Insitute of Sport in Sheffield, back in.

Demie-Jade Resztan and Joe Tyers took silver in that same tournament and will be hoping to go one better next time out.

Scotland’s Reese Lynch continues his return to competition following a long injury lay-off and completes the squad along with Demie-Jade Restzan, Sameenah Toussaint, Gemma Richardson and Harris Akbar.
