KIARAN MacDonald found himself on the wrong end of an agonisingly close split decision on day two of competition at the second world qualification event in Bangkok, Thailand.
The flyweight took on Korea’s Inkyu Kim in a closely fought encounter which could have gone either way, with the result all coming down to a tense final round.
Sadly, on this occasion it was the Korean who was deemed to have done enough in the eyes of the judges who scored the contest 3:2, meaning that MacDonald exits the competition.
GB Boxing will have two boxers competing in tomorrow’s action as both Patris Mughalzai and Lewis Richardson are set to step through the ropes.
First up at light-welterweight is Patris Mughalzai who takes on Colombia’s Jose Manuel Viafara Fory at 09:15am UK time.
Then, in the day’s later session, Lewis Richardson will go head-to-head with Honduras’ Chavez Brandon at 14:30pm in the light-middleweight contest.
