GB Boxing’s Owain Harris-Allan suffered defeat in what was a difficult opening day at the second world qualification tournament held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The featherweight faced South Korea’s Hyeungsung Kim in the round of 64 but despite a close bout, Harris-Allan was beaten via a 4-1 split decision and therefore exits the competition.

The Welshman was the only member of the team to compete on the first day of action and that will be the case on day two as flyweight Kiaran MacDonald will take on fellow Korean, Inkyu Kim, at 13:15pm UK time in ring B.

The results of all the bouts involving boxers from Great Britain at the 2nd world qualification event will be posted on GB Boxing’s social media channels and at www.gbboxing.org.uk.
