
Two-time Olympian Charley Davison will be the first boxer to represent Team GB at Paris 2024 as she takes on Turkey’s Hatice Akbas in the bantamweight contest.
The mum of three, who reached the quarter-final stages at Tokyo 2020, will get Britain’s campaign underway against the 2022 World Champion at the North Paris Arena on Saturday 27th July at 19:00pm, UK time.
Should Davison beat Akbas, she will then face Australia’s Tiana Echegaray.
Sunday 28th July will see two Team GB boxers compete as heavyweight Pat Brown takes on Brazil’s world silver medallist Keno Machado whilst Wales’ Rosie Eccles will compete against Poland’s Aneta Rygielska at welterweight.
Following that on Monday 29th July, European Games champion Delicious Orie will make his Olympic bow against Armenia’s Davit Chaloyan.
The last two British boxers to make their Olympic debuts are Chantelle Reid and Lewis Richardson.
Middleweight, Reid, will face Morocco’s Khadija Mardi whilst light-middleweight, Richardson, will go up against Serbia’s Vakhid Abbasov after being given a bye through to the round of 16.
Cindy Ngamba, who trains with the GB Boxing team at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield, representing the Refugee team will also make her first Olympic appearance.
She will face Canada’s Tammara Thibeault.
