GB Boxing have been given a special achievement award at this year’s British Boxing Board of Control awards following the team’s record-breaking Olympic success at Tokyo 2020.
The team recorded the best British boxing Olympic return since Antwerp 1920 as six boxers earned medals including gold medals for flyweight Galal Yafai and middleweight Lauren Price.
There were also silver medals for welterweight Pat McCormack and light-heavyweight Ben Whittaker whilst featherweight Karriss Artingstall and super-heavyweight Frazer Clarke claimed bronze.
A wide variety of the boxing community attended the award ceremony in London, including former team-member and Tokyo 2020 Olympian, Cheavon Clarke, who collected the award on behalf of the World Class Programme (WCP).
