The group includes Scotland’s 2021 world championship bronze medallist, Reese Lynch. The 20-year-old became the first ever Scot to earn a world championship medal when he recorded impressive victories over Iran’s Ashkan Rezai, Adrian Thiam of Spain and Kazakhstan’s Sanatali Toltayev in the light-welterweight contest at last year’s event in Belgrade.
Lynch said: “Winning my medal at the Worlds was such a brilliant feeling and a moment I’ll always be proud of but to now also have the to join GB Boxing, I’m delighted.
“Being able to train full-time will allow me to keep improving ahead of what is a very big year in terms of major boxing competitions and hopefully I can win some medals for both myself and my country along the way.”
He will be joined in the GB Boxing squad by fellow Scot, middleweight Sam Hickey, who also competed at the 2021 world championships.
