Tudsbury reaches next stage of World Championships

An impressive cruiserweight debut for Conner Tudsbury ensured his place in the next round of the 2021 World Boxing Championships after winning unanimously.

Tudsbury was the only boxer to represent England on day three in Belgrade as he eased to victory over his opponent Yan Zak of Israel.

The 21-year-old will now face Slovakia’s Matus Strnisko on Sunday 31st October.

Two boxers are in action tomorrow (Thursday 28th October).

First up in the afternoon session is featherweight Niall Farrell. Having been handed a bye for the opening round, the 2017 European Championship silver medallist takes on France’s Samuel Kistohurry for a place in the quarter-finals.

Delicious Orie is the other boxer competing tomorrow, as he too looks to progress to the quarter-final stage by beating Luis Gomez Meneses of Mexico.
