
Three boxers from Great Britain guaranteed a medal at Women’s European Championships in Madrid
Three boxers from Great Britain are looking to change their guaranteed bronze medal at the EUBC European Boxing Championships in Madrid.
Wins for Karriss Artingstall, Rosie Eccles and Demie-Jade Resztan were the highlights of a great tournament so far for the team and means they will compete into today’s semi-finals.
69kg Rosie Eccles defeated Sandy Ryan in the battle of the GB boxers. A close 3:2 split decision, sees Rosie come up against Angela Carini of Italy for a place in the final.
Later in the day, 57kg Karriss Artingstall beat home favourite Jennifer Fernandez with an empathic 5-0 win. Karriss will now fight Stanimira Petrova of Bulgaria in today’s semi-final.
Earlier in the week, 48kg Demie-Jade Resztan secured her bronze medal via a split decision win over Yana Burym of Belarus. Demie will now face Anna Okhota from Ukraine to book her place in Saturday’s final.
The three will go into Friday’s semi-finals where they have a chance to upgrade their guaranteed to bronze medal to silver with the possibility of winning gold in Saturday’s final.
The semi-finals will be held on Friday and can be seen on the GB Boxing website.
