Muhammed (or Mo as he is known by his teammates at GB Boxing) first started boxing at 11-years-old and one year later he entered the England Schoolboy Championships where he won his first ever gold medal.

In 2014 he won Silver at the Youth World Championships which he followed by winning bronze in the Youth Olympic Games 2014.  Mo added gold at the 2014 European Youth Championships and was selected to join the GB Boxing squad in the same year, whilst still a Youth boxer.

In his first competition as a senior he won the 2015 England Boxing Elite National Championships in Liverpool.  Three months later he secured his first medal at a major international tournament when he won flyweight silver at the 2015 European Championships in Samakov.

In 2016, he won twice for the British Lionhearts team that finished runners-up in the World Series of Boxing and in April, he secured his place at Rio by winning the European Continental Qualification event in Samsun, Turkey.

When he is not training in Sheffield Mo enjoys relaxing at home and spending time with his family.

Mo competed for Team GB in Rio at flyweight.
