Savannah Marshall and Jake Ball boxed their way into the finals of the World Combat Games in St Petersburg, Russia, today.
'Silent Assassin' Savannah Marshall reminded the crowd that she's a world champion at middleweight, with an emphatic 3:0 win over Russian Iaroslava Iaksushina. Savannah will take on China's Qian Ll for a gold medal in Thursday's final.

Podium Potential squad boxer Jake Ball beat strong Azerbaijani Elvin Gambarov to progress to the light heavyweight finals, where he will face Russian Dmitry Bivol.

Natasha Jonas met an old foe in the USA's Queen Underwood in the lightweight semi final. The American was out for revenge after being defeated by Jonas in the first ever women's Olympic boxing bout at the London 2012 Olympic Games, and the Liverpudlian was denied further progress in the competition when Underwood was awarded a 2:1 win.

Also out of the competition is Brentwood boxer Danny Dignum, who faced a tough task in Vladyslav Voitaliuk. The powerful Ukrainian earned his second technical knockout of the competition, making Danny settle for bronze.
