Welterweight (69kg), Scott Fitzgerald will be the first GB Boxing representative to compete when he takes on Ron Bastien from St Lucia in this afternoon’s session.
The draw took place yesterday and is available on the Glasgow 2014 website.

There is one home nation clash in the first round with and the potential for more to come: Pat McCormack will meet Joe Cordina of Wales in the 60kg preliminary first round on Saturday.

At 52kg Charlie Edwards has a bye in the first round but is on collision course to meet Wales’s world number one, Andrew Selby, in the second round, provided Selby gets past Reece McFadden of Scotland in his opener.

In the 56kg division Qais Ashfaq has a bye through Saturday’s first round, but Ashfaq could meet Joe Ham of Scotland in the quarter-final; Qais will need to be Neo Thamahane from Leshoto on Monday to set-up a confrontation with Ham.

GB Boxing squad mates, Sam Maxwell of England and Josh Taylor from Scotland are on course to meet in the semi-finals, however Sam will first need to defeat Ikani Falekaono of Tonga in his opener on Saturday afternoon.

At Middleweight (75kg), Antony Fowler is on course to face Scotland’s Kieran Smith in the second round, provided he can get past Kyriakos Spanos of Cyprus in his opener on Saturday night.

At super-heavyweight, Joe Joyce needs to get past Keddy Agnes of the Seychelles on Friday to set-up a quarter-final against Scotland’s, Ross Henderson.

At heavyweight, Warren Baister will meet the beaten finalist from the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Steven Ward of Ireland when he begins his campaign on the same day.

In the women’s competition, Nicola Adams will meet Oluwatoyin Oladeji of Nigeria in next Monday’s first round of the flyweight (51kg) competition.

Natasha Jonas will box Shelley Watts of Australia on Tuesday in the 60kg lightweight division
World champion, Savannah Marshall, will meet Rani Pooja of India in the first round of the middleweight (75kg) competition on Tuesday.
